Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a modern and highly effective treatment method which introduces high-energy sound waves into the body. With this innovative therapy approach, pathological alterations of tendons, ligaments, capsules, muscles and bones can be healed systematically.
Shockwave therapy accelerates the healing process by stimulating the metabolism and enhancing blood circulation to repair damaged tissue. Strong energy pulses are applied to the affected area which stimulates cells in the body that are responsible for bone and connective tissue healing. Shockwave therapy is most effective in situations where the human body has not been able to heal itself on its own.

Treatments are often 5-10 minutes in length and beneficial effects are often experienced after only 1 or 2 treatments.  It is recommended that treatments be spaced 1 week apart.

Conditions treated by Shockwave Therapy include:
  • Rotator Cuff calcification
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Heel Spur
  • Jumper’s Knee
  • Bursitis
  • Hallux Rigidus
  • Tennis elbow
  • Golfer’s elbow
